Rapunzel Vegan Vegetable Bouillon
Great Low Sodium Bouillon
Rapunzel is a German company that specializes in organic foods including chocolate, oils, soups and snacks. They have three different vegetable bouillons one of which is fairly low in sodium. If you don't have time to make your own low sodium stock, this is a great alternative and the best low sodium bouillon I have found so far. It tastes great with real flavor - not like the standard bouillon you find with excessive salt.

I primarily use it when making soups and risotto.

Sodium content = 130mg.

Lotus Foods Forbidden Rice
Don't Forbid In Your Pantry!
Lotus Foods Black Forbidden Rice is a great 0mg sodium alternative to the typical white or brown rice options. The dark purplish-black color is a nice accompaniment to colorful foods such as mahi mahi with orange mango salsa or grilled vegetables. It is sure to add an exotic flair to your favorite dishes!

One of my favorite ways to prepare is my Black Rice with Sliverd Almonds recipe. Prepare in a rice cooker or on your stove top.

Cook the rice according to the package instructions; include the slivered almonds as you cook. The almonds will take on the deep purplish-black color of the rice and add a relaly nice subtle flavor to the rice.

The glaze in this recipe can be made first and then left on your warming burner while you prepare the rest of the dish. The glaze also goes well with Swordfish, Venison, Duck or Quail.

2 Serving-size tuna steaks about 3/4 inch thick
1 Medium sized onion cut into full round slices
1 Small red bell pepper cut into rings
1 Small yellow bell pepper cut into rings
